We do not accept health insurance. All patients are strongly encouraged to carry health insurance to cover such things as laboratory tests, imaging studies, specialist referrals, prescription drugs, surgical procedures, emergency treatment, hospitalization, and the many other important items covered by health insurance.
Except in an emergency, we will not treat minor children without a parent, guardian, or a recognized legitimate substitute present or readily available.
We rely on local hospitalists to care for our hospitalized patients. You are encouraged to grant us access to all outside medical records.
Please provide notice of at least one business day for cancelling or rescheduling an appointment, true emergencies and inclement weather excepted.
As a condition of joining our practice, you will be expected to sign a statement that you agree to give up your right to bring lawsuits for any reason against Dr. Gordon, his office, and/or his staff. This policy removes a barrier that would keep Dr. Gordon from being completely open, honest, and transparent with his patients and that would otherwise force Dr. Gordon to practice what is commonly known as “defensive medicine”.
We do not bill electronically and, therefore, do not fall under the purview of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). However, we will exercise due diligence to keep your medical information strictly confidential. Your medical records will be kept electronically. You are expected to maintain custody of any non-electronic records. We may require written permission to release your records, and a nominal fee may be charged for this service.
In order to protect our patients and staff, we enforce the following policies as a condition of being treated in person. Telemedicine is always an available option regardless of vaccination status.
